20 questions · 2 minutesWhere do you really stand?
Blue answers lean Democrat, red answers lean Republican. Skip anything you're unsure about — it won't count against you.
How does this work?
Each question is worth 1 to 3 points, depending on how sharply it tends to separate the two parties. A yes or no answer hands those points to one side or the other, and the points you collect are simply added up.
Choosing Not sure leaves that question out of the maths completely — it adds nothing to either side and doesn't drag your score down. Your percentage is the share of your scored points that lean Democrat; the rest lean Republican.
Those percentages fall into five bands: 0–20% Strong Republican, 21–40% Lean Republican, 41–59% Moderate / Centrist, 60–79% Lean Democrat, and 80–100% Strong Democrat.
The wording and point values are our own rough choices, so treat this as a playful self-check for thinking about where you stand — not a scientific measurement or a label.
